There is no such thing as “coding”
I am convinced that people who call software development and programming “coding” are either missing the point or simply lack experience.
Or it is a very lousy use of words, which is still not an excuse.
How come a person who does software development and engineering as their main trade can diminish it to “typing the code” is very puzzling.
The logic is similar as if we called the act of painting “brushing” or the act of acting on stage “standing around”. Describing pure mechanical function.
There were people who did actual coding from 1890s until 1990s. Encoding the program on the punchcards. The programs, however, were created by the mathematicians.
If you are a programmer and refer to yourself as “coder” you are voluntarily diminish your own worth.
