No, Firefox, I did not ask for more AI

Another day, another Firefox update. In which they seemingly now allow you to control ✨AI✨ in your browser.
Thing is, I never asked for ✨AI✨ to be in my browser in the first place.
I use AI tools daily, namely Claude Code. The difference is that I do it when I choose to. It does not harass me with constant update notifications and new obscure ways to configure it.
The best product design is unobtrusive
What Firefox has been doing for the past year is the opposite:
- Look, we added ✨AI✨ sidebar that you didn't ask for
- Hey, look, we updated the ✨AI✨ sidebar (you didn't ask for)
- Oh wow, look at this new ✨AI✨ feature you don't care about
- Neat, now we added an option do disable ✨AI✨ because we listen
Maybe you listen, maybe you don't. But you certainly lack empathy.
I have chosen your browser precisely because it was less obnoxious than Chrome. How about it simply stays that way?
Oh, and if you need money — why not simply do a fundraising like Blender Foundation does it? Without being obnoxious.
