"Dumb phone" might be a dumb idea
There is a trending app called “dumb phone”. Essentially, it is a widget with a list of links to launch your apps “without distraction”.
It would be all well and good, except for the two things: iPhone already has focus modes. And you can already remove unnecessary app icons from the launch screen.
Okay, it might be cool aesthetic for some. I get it.
But why does it cost £3.99 per month?
The only reason is to make support and development sustainable. This assumes this is an actual commercial endeavour for the developers. Otherwise, this just feels like a strange cash grab.
It might be Flappy Bird all over again.
